Perfect fusion between beach and nature
The North Pacific Coast, Guanacaste province, is blessed with the nicest beaches of Costa Rica, however not all attractions in this area have to do with the blue ocean and warm, sandy beaches; you will find pristine rivers, active volcanoes and important protected areas such as Santa Rosa National Park, not only a historic site but also boasting 10 different eco habitats including mangroves, swamps and dry forests. Other protected area are Palo Verde, a sanctuary for birds and wildlife consisting of mangroves and wetlands, and the Rincon de la Vieja Volcano, featuring impressive vegetation, volcanic activity such as fumaroles and bubbling mud holes.

Located 30 min. northwest from the airport you will find the Gulf of Papagayo where beautiful resorts and tourist facilities lay among some of the most beautiful beaches of Costa Rica, including Hermosa Beach with amazing panoramic views, white sand and blue waters; Coco Beach, a small village with some restaurants, bars and souvenir shops and Ocotal Beach, small and cozy, scuba diving and fishing tours are offered from this location.
From Liberia’s airport heading west for 1 hour you will find pristine beaches adorned by some picturesque towns such as Flamingo Beach, a popular place for sport fishing, with its turquoise waters, white sand, various hotels, some nightlife and restaurants; Conchal, a beautiful beach with shell-powder sand and sparkling waters and Tamarindo Beach, a bustling little town with a lot of restaurants, hotels, souvenir shops, supermarkets, very active nightlife and famous for attracting many surfers who enjoy it’s great waves.
At the very south of Guanacaste you will find the Peninsula de Nicoya featuring romantic hideaways on secluded beaches, boasting with facilities like outstanding spa service and golf.
